Marsha Warfield began her career as a stand-up comedian, winning the San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 1979, competing against talents like Dana Carvey and A. Whitney Brown. Best known for her role as Roz Russell on NBC's “Night Court” (1986-1992), she also contributed to “The Richard Pryor Show” and appeared in films like “The Marva Collins Story” (1981), D.C. Cab (1983) and “Mask” (1985).
After an extended hiatus, Marsha returned with stand-up routines at “Netflix is a Joke” festivals and her show “Book of Marsha.” She appeared on “9-1-1,” “The Upshaws,” and the 2023 “Night Court” revival. An outspoken feminist and lesbian, Marsha hosts the webcast “Midnight in the Marshaverse” with Steven Roberts and Skillz Hudson, exploring diverse themes.
